Hugo Almond Cake
Hugo Mandeltort , from 1904 Hugo Manhardt (born May 16, 1872 in Neusohl ; † January 26, 1933 in Vienna ) was an Austrian builder and architect .
Life
Hugo Mandeltort was of Jewish origin and the son of a building contractor. All information about his training is missing. At the age of 25, his first house in Vienna is proven, which is why it is considered unlikely that he completed an academic education. From 1897 to 1900 he worked with Franz Rohleder , from then on he worked alone. In 1903 he resigned from the Israelite religious community and in 1904 became Protestant, at the same time he took the name Manhardt . He worked successfully as a building contractor until the First World War , after which no more buildings have been made by him. In 1922 he and his son founded a construction company specializing in reinforced concrete construction.
meaning
Hugo Mandeltort's buildings were initially built in a late historical , neo-baroque style. After the end of the collaboration with Franz Rohleder, Mandeltort oriented itself more towards secessionist decorations and built in a mixed style of baroque and secessionist decorative elements. He also used the design of the street courtyard.
