Hugo Salazar

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hugo Salazar († 1996 ) was a Mexican football player in the position of goalkeeper .

career

Salazar was in the early 1980s as the second goalkeeper behind the Argentine goalkeeper Héctor Zelada with Club America under contract. Thus he was part of the squad of the championship team of Club America , which won the Mexican football championship twice in a row in the 1983/84 and 1984/85 seasons . While Salazar was used eight times in the 1983/84 season, he only came to a single use in the 1984/85 season.

But he only had his greatest effort at his next stop, UANL Tigres , when he held a penalty kicked by Missael Espinoza in a Clásico Regiomontano in the opponent's stadium on March 31, 1990 and thus the 1-0 victory of the Tigres at neighboring CF Monterrey secured. But in his next season (1990/91) at the Tigres, Salazar was again a substitute goalkeeper for an Argentine, this time from Ángel Comizzo .
