Joel-Sadu Aminu (born April 23, 1997 ) is a German basketball player on position two ( Shooting Guard ). He has been part of the Phoenix Hagen squad since 2017 .
career
Aminu played in the youth of the Kamp-Lintfort basketball community and from 2011 also played for TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, first in the youth basketball league , then in the youth basketball league . In the men's area he gained his first experience with the Kamp-Lintforter in the 2nd regional league and, after strong performances in the 2014/15 season, received offers from higher leagues.
In 2015 he moved to Team Ehingen Urspring and rose with the team in his first season from the 2nd Bundesliga ProB to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . He had decided to move to Ehingen because he wanted to increase his chances of going to a university in the United States. Numerous players used Ehingen as a stepping stone to the United States. "Of course it would be a dream one day to play at a college and study in the USA," Aminu was quoted as saying in May 2015. After advancing to the ProA, however, he decided not to go to the USA for the time being, but to play with Ehingen in the second-highest German class.
In June 2017, Aminu was signed by Phoenix Hagen (ProA). With an average of 9.5 per match, he was one of the top performers in the Hagen squad in the 2017/18 season.
