Hugo von Hagen

Hugo Ernst Louis Hans von Hagen (born March 30, 1835 in Wiesbaden , † September 28, 1911 in Hildesheim ) was a Prussian major general and most recently in command of the Küstrin fortress .

Life

His parents were the Nassau colonel a. D. and Chamberlain Ferdinand von Hagen (1779–1845) and his third wife Auguste, born von Vigelius (1806–1877).

Career

He attended the secondary school in Wiesbaden from 1846 to 1853. After graduating, he went on February 8, 1854 as a musketeer in the 17th Infantry Regiment. There he was promoted to NCO on May 4, 1854, on December 7, 1854 to Portepeefähnrich and on November 10, 1855 to Second Lieutenant. From October 1, 1857 to March 31, 1858 he was transferred to the Central Gymnasium . He then became adjutant of the fusilier battalion on August 24, 1859. He was appointed Premier Lieutenant on August 10, 1863 and transferred to the 67th Infantry Regiment on November 7, 1865.

During the German War of 1866 he fought near Münchengrätz , Preßburg and Königgrätz . After the war he was promoted to captain on March 22, 1868 and appointed to the company. During the Franco-Prussian War he was wounded in the Battle of Gravelotte . But he fought again at the siege of Belfort and the battle at Cravanche.

After the war he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class on October 28, 1872 . On March 12, 1878, he was appointed superfluous major and on November 13, 1879 as a regular staff officer. On March 2, 1880, he became commander of the fusilier battalion. Promoted to lieutenant colonel on November 12, 1885, he joined the 91st Infantry Regiment as a regular staff officer . On July 10, 1888, he was entrusted with the command of the 94th Infantry Regiment and was placed à la suite of the regiment. On August 4, 1888, he was confirmed as commander and at the same time promoted to colonel. But as early as October 23, 1890, he was transferred to the Küstrin Fortress as commander and was placed à la suite of the regiment.

He received the character of Major General on August 18, 1891 , Knight of Honor of the Order of St. John on January 15, 1892, the Order of the Crown 2nd Class on January 18, 1893 and the Order of the Red Eagle 2nd Class with Oak Leaves on January 20, 1895 . On 14 July 1895 he was charged with board for discussion found and died on 28 September 1911 in Hildesheim.

Hagen married Frederike Charlotte Louise Olinka Lancelle (1830–1873) on April 9, 1860 in Wesel . The couple had several children:

After the death of his first wife, he married Freiin Thekla Löw von und zu Steinfurt (1843–1906) in Wiesbaden on June 9, 1874 . The couple had several children:
