Human Conditions ( ger .: Human states ) is the second solo album from the northern English songwriter Richard Ashcroft and was released on October 21 of 2002. It contains ten elaborately arranged spiritual country and folk songs in classic British songwriter fashion, reached number 3 on the UK album charts and received gold status.

description

What is striking about Richard Ashcroft's second album is the great spiritual , soulful component that makes many of the songs stand out over classic song lengths of four minutes. But the usual Britpop sound can also be found on the album and shows the record as a logical conclusion from the Urban Hymns and his debut album . With Lord I've Been Trying , it also contains a song that comes from The Verve's 1996 song repertoire .

The album is to be understood as Ashcroft's multi-perspective consideration of himself and his place in the world. It superficially describes mental and social conditions and is about depression and love , religion and the search for meaning . The final track Nature Is the Law was created in collaboration with the songwriter of the Beach Boys , Brian Wilson , and is a pantheistic tribute Ashcroft to life.
