The Humboldt Graben is with glacial ice Stuffed and 30 km long valley in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It lies north-south between the Alexander von Humboldt Mountains and the Petermann range in the Wohlthat massif .
The valley was discovered and named during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . It is named after the German naturalist Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859).
