William Tyrell of Beeches

Sir William Tyrell of Beeches († 1462 ) was an English knight .

Life

Sir William was the eldest son of Sir John Tyrell of Heron (around 1382-1437) and Alice Coggestall.

The Tyrell family owned several houses and estates in Essex , including Heron , Gipping, and Beeches .

Sir William was a devoted supporter of the House of Lancaster and fought with his nephew William Tyrell of Heron during the Wars of the Roses at the Battles of Northampton (1460), Wakefield (1460), St Albans (1461), and Towton (1461) .

Sir William Tyrell of Beeches was beheaded on Tower Hill on February 23, 1462 for fighting the House of York .

Marriage and offspring

Sir William was married to Anne, daughter of William Fitz-Simon.
