William Tyrell of Heron

Sir William Tyrell of Heron († 1471 ) was an English knight .

Life

Sir William was a son of Sir Thomas Tyrell of Heron and Anne, daughter of John Marney.

The Tyrell family owned several houses and estates in Essex , including Heron , Gipping, and Beeches .

Sir William was a devoted supporter of the House of Lancaster and fought at the Battles of Northampton (1460), Wakefield (1460), St Albans (1461), Towton (1461) and Barnet (1471) during the Wars of the Roses .

Sir William fell at Barnet on April 14, 1471.

Marriage and offspring

Sir William was married to Eleanor Hungerford, widow of John White.
