geography
location
The Hummelsee lies at approx. 810 m above sea level. NHN about one kilometer southwest of the center of Deilingen in the Tuttlingen district and about half a northwest of its suburb Delkhofen on the lowest eastern slope of the Oberhohenberg ( 1010 m above sea level ) into the valley of the Mühlbach , the first significant tributary of the Untere Bära on the Großer Heuberg . The lake with an area of about one hectare lies in the pointed wedge of the mouth of the brook, which is only about 650 meters long from the Tiefen Brunnen (approx. 825 m above sea level ), which feeds it via a pre-pond with less than a tenth of its area, and the one just below of the lake flows into the approximately 1.8 km long Lauterbach , which then reaches the tributary Mühlbach der Unteren Bära less than 400 meters further down .
The lake, roughly in the shape of a broad rectangle, the eastern point of which would have been drawn out into the mouth wedge, lies on a flat meadow slope and is lined with a row of trees on the two long banks in the northeast and southeast to the brooks, in front of which in each case a dirt road runs, also on the south-west bank. Upwards towards the Tiefen Brunnen there is a large area of loosened wood in the side valley basin.
