Humor is the name of a sculpture in the Stockholm district of Södermalm in Sweden .

location

It is located on Peter Myndes Backe Street , west of Slussen Metro Station . To the north is the Stockholm City Museum , to the east is the Hotell Anno 1647 .

Architecture and history

The small bronze sculpture was created in 1967 by Karl Göte Bejemark . It depicts a worker who lifts a manhole cover with both hands from below and looks at the sidewalk . The area around the manhole cover is cordoned off with construction site barriers, which are part of the work of art. The sculpture pays homage to the Swedish comedian Hans Alfredson , whose facial features the sewer worker bears. Bejermark financed the sculpture itself. Another figure originally planned, a tourist taking photos , was not implemented for financial reasons.

Initially, the work of art was placed on Nybroplan , but had to be dismantled there in 2010. On September 23, 2011, it was repositioned at its current location.
