The Hungerberg is an elongated, flat chain of hills on the Ilbesheimer Lössschwelle in the Rheinhessen hill country .
It extends from the south of Bischheim about three kilometers south to the north of Marnheim in the valley of the Pfrimm . The federal motorway 63 is located immediately to the west .
The Hungerberg has several peaks. The highest of these is in the west and is 302 meters high. A little south of it is the 300 m high Galgengewanne summit .
In spring 2014, the “Hungerberg” wind farm (ten Vestas V112 wind turbines with an output of 3 megawatts each and a transformer station) went online. It can generate around 80 million kilowatt hours annually, which arithmetically supplies around 23,000 households.
Before that, there were three wind farms with a total of 28 wind turbines on the Hungerberg. All 38 wind turbines together now have an output of 95 MW.
