history

The Berlin pharmacist Curt Hunnius founded the Pharmaceutical Dictionary in 1950 to provide pharmacists and pharmacy students with a reference work covering the entire field of pharmacy. There was no similar work, and foreign literature was not available in sufficient quantities in post-war Germany. The research for the first edition was made more difficult by the loss of the library of the Botanical Museum in Berlin-Dahlem .
