The Huta 14 is a self-propelled suction dredger that was one of the most powerful suction dredgers in the world when it was delivered.

history

The special ship was delivered to Bilfinger & Berger on April 30, 1986 as Bilberg I from the Orenstein & Koppel shipyard in Lübeck . In 1990 the Dutch hydraulic engineering shipping company Boskalis took over the ship and used it as Ursa . The vehicle has belonged to the Huta Group from Saudi Arabia, which operates it as Huta 14 , since 2013 .

technology

The excavator can work up to a water depth of 25 m. With a total output of almost 15,000 kW, it is designed for particularly hard soil types. It is equipped with two anchor piles , the cutting head has a drive power of 3300 kW and the subsea and dredging pumps have a drive power of 9600 kW.
