Hwang Ye-ji (born May 26, 2000 in Seoul , South Korea ) is a South Korean singer , rapper and dancer . She became known through her debut in the South Korean girl group Itzy .

Life

Although Yeji was born in Seoul, she grew up in Jeonju . She attended Jeonju Hwasan Elementary School, Jeonju Geunyeong Middle School, and Jeonju Commercial Information High School.

Musically she is considered to be able to sing, rap and dance. In 2019 she became a member of the JYP girl group. She made her debut on February 12, 2019 with the single "Dalla Dalla". The music video of "Dalla Dalla" was viewed almost 14 million times in the first 24 hours, which set a record for a K-pop debut video. She has been very successful since her debut and won several awards in her first year as a group.
