Egira ( New Greek Αιγείρα ( f. Sg. )) Has been one of six parishes of the newly created municipality of Egialia since 2011 . It emerged from the community of the same name, which had existed since 1997. The administrative seat is the small town of the same name in the north of the Peloponnese .

location

The municipality is located in the north of the Peloponnese peninsula and borders on the Gulf of Corinth on an approximately 2.5 km long coastal strip . It is the easternmost parish of the Achaia regional district . West is Akratas and east of the regional district for Corinthia belonging Evrostini .

The small town of Egira is located directly on the coast, the ancient Aigeira about 2.5 km southeast inland.
