The IFB inclusion through support and care eV is a German association that was founded in 1959 and wants to get involved with disabled people.

history

The association was originally founded as a parents' initiative in Wiesbaden under the name Interest Group for the Disabled . Today the IFB accompanies, supports and promotes around 1500 affected persons and their relatives. His guiding principle is: "As much self-determination as possible, as much care as necessary".

structure

The IFB has set up various associations, societies and foundations to achieve its goals. The IFB itself is responsible for fundraising and public relations, personnel administration, advanced training, voluntary work, the barrier-free advice center and the Löwenmut initiative.

The foundation was established in December 2011 and employs over 1000 people in more than 55 facilities in Wiesbaden , in the Rheingau-Taunus district , in the Main-Taunus district , in the Limburg-Weilburg district , in Hadamar , in Leipzig and Klipriver ( Midvaal municipality , Gauteng Province ) in South Africa . The IFB Foundation is ideologically independent and non-profit.

The executive chairman of the IFB eV is Wolfgang Groh.

The services provided by the foundation are divided into the following areas:

  • Kangaroo starts with the early intervention of children and supports families in which a child or young person with a handicap lives.
  • At home , people with special needs are looked after in their own homes and offers leisure activities.
  • JOB offers people with disabilities career opportunities on the primary job market.
  • SV Rhinos Wiesbaden is the IFB Foundation's sports program. The wheelchair basketball team plays in the 2nd Bundesliga.
  • Hospice helps in the last phase of life in the facilities Bärenherz , ADVENA and in the area “Hospice for young seriously ill people”.
  • Löwenmut is the IFB Foundation's initiative for seriously ill children in South Africa . Löwenmut runs a children's hospice for 21 children in Klipriver, part of Midvaal in the Gauteng province.

Awards

The Bärenherz Foundation, which belongs to the IFB Group, was awarded the Bambi in the engagement category in 2008 .
