IKM writer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As IKM-Schreiber (IKM stands for Internet Contact Market) is someone called who in dating services in the Internet takes on the role of virtual identities. His range of activities can range from creating invented profiles to acting for a variety of bogus identities. The purpose of his activity is to arouse or maintain the interest of curious participants and existing customers, depending on the portal, to generate chargeable mail traffic or to motivate them to use or extend premium services, but often also to submit unfair or fraudulent offers.

Alternatively, the terms “dialogue writer”, “contact person” or “controller” can be found in relevant job advertisements, whose activities are often similar.

Activities in dating sites

IKM writers are commissioned by dubious single sites to acquire new members. For this purpose, IKM writers register with a fake profile at a reputable single exchange, write members there as decoy, express interest in the person in the bait messages, but write that they are active in other single exchanges. The person's profile can also be found in the dating site. But in order to be able to send a message to them, a paid premium membership is required. For each recruited member, an IKM writer receives approx. 0.80 EUR. If this can persuade the member to take out a paid premium membership, there is an additional bonus. In dating sites with a freemium model in particular, IKM writers, but also controllers, are used to increase the activity of members, because writing and answering messages as well as chatting must be paid for with coins.

criticism

An IKM writer is a paid fake who usually posts various profiles that are as erotic as possible and asks men to use a call center for sex or agency services that are subject to a charge or to register with sites that are subject to a charge. The IKM writer earns per minute the customer calls the call center (around EUR 0.30 per minute). It is a commercial activity under the pretense of private contact and is criminally questionable.
