description

The iPad Air has a back made of anodized aluminum, which is available in the colors silver and space gray . The front of the device has a colored glass pane on the edge; in Space Gray it is black; in Silver it is white. A home button is attached to the lower center edge, and an orientation lock switch is located on the right side of the case next to the volume rocker. The iPad Air has a camera underneath the on / off switch on the top of the housing, and another camera is installed on the front in the middle at the top of the screen. The resolution of the cameras is 5.0 and 1.2 megapixels. There is also a stereo microphone and a 3.5 mm jack connection on the top. A stereo speaker is installed on the underside next to the Lightning connector. The iPad Air is primarily operated by touching the touch screen.

Apple initially offered the iPad Air in 16, 32, 64 and 128 GB with and without a cellular modem for the North American market. A device that supports the Chinese TD-LTE bands was released on April 1, 2014. In favor of the iPad Air 2, the 64 and 128 GB memory sizes were removed from the range. American devices use SIM cards in the nano-SIM format with a form factor of 4FF (12.3 mm × 8.8 mm × 0.67 mm). Apple states up to 10 hours of battery life when surfing the Internet via WLAN and up to 9 hours when using a 3G data network. The battery of the iPad Air is a 32.9 Wh lithium polymer battery . In addition to the cellular modem, Apple installed an A-GPS module. Devices without a modem also have the digital compass.

Apple uses the A7 chip as the SoC , which differs from the one in the iPhone 5s. It has 1 GB of RAM, an Apple Cyclone processor and a PowerVR-G6430 graphics processor with four cores.
