The ISA af Lygnern is an electric motor ship that is used for tourist traffic on the Swedish Lygnern .

Technical specifications

The ship is measured with 30 gross register tons and has two asynchronous motors with 20  kW each and a battery voltage of 72  volts . The batteries required for this weigh three tons. This allows the ship to operate for ten hours at a speed of five knots. The ship was christened on June 6, 2011 because of a technical defect in the trailer with which the ship was to be launched on land; the first voyage was carried out on October 16, 2011.

The tours start and end in Sätila Sand and pass Ramhultafallet , the highest waterfall in southern Sweden at 64 meters . So far there is only one landing stage in Satila. With the resumption of shipping traffic on Lygnern, the jetties are to be rebuilt in Fjärås, as at other earlier landing stages.

The ship is operated by ISA af Lygnern Ekonomisk förening . Numerous donations made the construction of the ship possible.

history

Between 1889 and 1924 there was a steamship called ISA that operated on the Lygnern from Sätila to Fjaras . This was the fastest way to get from Sätila to Gothenburg .

The new ship is as long as the historic boat, but one meter wider.
