The international touring car race (ITR for short) e. V. is an association in Wiesbaden. In 2003, it took over the DTM brand from Dekra .

The club markets the racing series, organizes the races and develops its rules with the German Motor Sport Association . Until 2017, Hans Werner Aufrecht , a founder of AMG , was the first chairman of the ITR; his successor is the former Austrian racing driver Gerhard Berger . The manufacturers Audi , BMW and Daimler are represented as advisory boards in the form of their Motorsport Directors Wolfgang Ullrich, Jens Marquardt and Toto Wolff .

The ITR also markets the FIA's European Formula 3 Championship .
