I Am (English for: " I am ") is the fifth album by the British singer Leona Lewis , which was released on September 11, 2015 under the label Island and Def Jam worldwide. The album is Lewis' first album that was not released under the Syco Music label after she left in June 2014. Recordings for the album began back in mid-2013 and continued during the production of their fourth studio album and first Christmas album, Christmas, with Love, from 2013. The album sold 24,000 copies worldwide in its first week. The first single on the album is the song Fire Under My Feet .

In February 2013 Syco Music announced that Lewis had started to write and record new songs for their fourth studio album, which was due to be released in 2013. This news came after Lewis announced that she was moving away from her old management Modest! has separated; these have worked with her since she won the third season of The X Factor in 2006. There was speculation in the media whether this had something to do with the poor success of their third studio album, Glassheart , which was released in November 2012: it was their first album, which did not reach number 1 in the UK charts and was not even platinum was awarded. In August 2013, Lewis announced that she was currently recording her first Christmas album, which Simon Cowell , a friend and the boss of her label, had come up with. The album was then released in November 2013, was placed at number 13 in the UK charts and was awarded gold on December 27, 2013, as the album sold more than 100,000 times.
Singles
The album's first single, Fire Under My Feet , was released on June 7, 2015. The song was written by Lewis and Toby Gad and landed at number 51 on the UK charts and number 4 on the Billboard 100 Hot Dance chart . I Am was released on iTunes on July 17, 2015 and became the UK's second single. Thunder was released as the third single from the album on July 24, 2015 and the first single in the United States. All singles could not share in the success of the older singles such as B. Bleeding Love or Run .
