Band history
John Bramwell worked as a concert organizer at Club Night & Day , where he met the two other band members, Andy Hargreaves and Pete Jobson.
The band played their first concert in 1999 during the full Night & Day . Several singles followed. Her first album Natural History was released in 2001 and received praise in the English press: Among other things, the NME compared Bramwell's songwriting skills with those of Morrissey and Stuart Murdoch ( Belle and Sebastian ); the mood of the record was described as oscillating between self-hatred, cynicism and tenderness, and the work received 8 out of 10 points. The producer of Natural History was Guy Garvey from the band Elbow .
The second album, I Am Kloot , came out two years later and was produced by Ian Broudie . It placed 68 in the British album charts. In 2005 the band went on tour in the United States, and a short time later their third album, Gods and Monsters, was released . With Over My Shoulder, this album contains the band's most successful single so far in the UK at position 38.
In 2006 the band released a compilation of recordings that had been recorded for the radio show by John Peel . In 2008 another studio album was released, I Am Kloot Play Moolah Rouge . The following year, B was released, a compilation of B-sides and rarities.
Her fifth studio album, Sky at Night , was released on July 16, 2010 . The album was nominated for the 2010 Barclaycard Mercury Prize in the UK's Best Album of the Year category. The band was supported by the musicians Guy Garvey and Craig Potter from Elbow .
