I Wanna Be Somebody is a song by the American band WASP. It appeared on their self-titled debut album in August 1984 and as its first single released in September 1984 . To I Wanna Be Somebody two music videos were shot: one for the European market and a defused version for the US.
Music genre
Charly Rinne wrote in his review of the debut album for Metal Hammer that he “only noticed the hit parade 'I Wanna Be Somebody' and the ballad 'Sleeping In The Fire'”. He compared the style to Quiet Riot and Twisted Sister and described it as "very catchy" and "very American, but never drifting into the mainstream corner".
