I Wanna Rock is a song written by Dee Snider and played by his band Twisted Sister . It was released on the 1984 album Stay Hungry .
Music video
Like the previous song by the band We're Not Gonna Take It , the music video features actor Mark Metcalf . In the video, he plays a strict and authoritarian teacher who harasses one of his students for drawing the Twisted Sister logo on his notebook. He wants to know from him what he intends to do with his life, to which he only replies: "I wanna rock". He and four of his classmates transform themselves into the members of Twisted Sister and defy the teacher's attempts to stop them. The teacher fails several times in the style of slapstick comedy.
Parodies
A parody called Goofy Goober Rock (in German: "Taube Nüsschen Rock") is shown in The SpongeBob SquarePants movie from 2004.
