Tiefenbronner Seewiesen is a designated nature reserve with the number 2,108 by ordinance of the Karlsruhe regional council of December 16, 1987 .
location
The nature reserve is located in the Obere Gäue natural area and is around 1000 meters southeast of Tiefenbronn . The reserve is located in a floodplain that is crossed by the Stadelbach and its tributary Seegraben . It is part of the FFH area No. 7218-341 Calwer Heckengäu . In the southeast it borders on the nature reserve Betz hump and in the southwest, south and north-east it is from the conservation area Tiefenbronn-Biet flanked (no. 2.36.040).
Protection purpose
According to the regulation, the protection purpose is conservation and development
- a wet biotope for scientific and ecological reasons as a diverse habitat and resting place for rare and endangered bird species,
- a geologically significant quarry on the boundary between the upper red sandstone and the lower shell limestone, and
- of neglected semi-arid lawns.
Flora and fauna
The flowering plants of real bedstraw , nodular saxifrage , meadow sage and snake knotweed thrive in the area . Over 100 bird species have been observed, around 40 of which breed here. These include endangered species such as the blackcap , red-backed killer , partridge and quail . 17 species of locust have been identified, including the now rare marsh insect .
