Characteristics
The protected area was created on June 20, 1989 by ordinance of the Karlsruhe Regional Council with the protected area number 2119. This ordinance was published in the Law Gazette for Baden-Württemberg on October 11, 1989 and came into force thereafter. The NSG's CDDA code is 162364 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .
location
The nature reserve is located in the Pfinzgau around one kilometer southeast of Königsbach-Stein. It belongs entirely to FFH area No. 7017-3412 Pfinzgau Ost . The protected area lies in the natural area 125- Kraichgau within the natural spatial main unit 12- Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten .
Protection purpose
The purpose of protection is both the preservation and development of the free, semi-arid lawns interspersed with trees and shrubs and the properties planted in the course of succession or forestry measures in the sun-exposed, predominantly steep slopes on shell limestone, as well as the maintenance and development of the meadows in the area, which are often interspersed with fruit trees Lindtal as a location and habitat for endangered and endangered animal and plant species.
