location

The nature reserve has a size of 21.8 hectares, it is located on the northwestern edge of the Kelterner district Ellmendingen and belongs to the natural area 125- Kraichgau within the natural spatial main unit 12- Gäuplatten in Neckar and Tauberland .

It is enclosed by the approximately 2,206 hectare protected landscape area no. 2.36.038 - Kelterner Obst- und Rebengäu and is also part of the 1,789 hectare FFH area no. 7017–341 Pfinzgau Ost .

Protection purpose

The protection purpose is the preservation and development of a wetland with a very differentiated structure due to different soil water conditions, soil compositions and uses in the area where the Arnbach flows into the Pfinz for ecological and scientific reasons.
