The Enztal nature and landscape protection area between Niefern and Mühlacker is located in the Enzkreis in Baden-Württemberg in the area of ​​the municipalities of Mühlacker and Niefern-Öschelbronn .

location

The protected areas extend over four kilometers along the Enz between the two communities, the NSG has an area of ​​123 hectares . The width is only a few hundred meters, which only widens to about one kilometer over a short section. The development of Niefern-Öschelbronn and in particular of the Enzberg district of the city of Mühlacker extends directly to the border of the area. The 10.6 hectare protected landscape area of ​​the same name, which is immediately adjacent to the northwest, serves as a supplementary space and buffer zone.

The NSG is almost completely in the FFH area Enztal near Mühlacker . Adjacent are the landscape protection areas Nieferner Enztal with side valleys and castle hill . Moreover, at no great distance, northwest of the NSG, is the conservation area pebble Bronner Streuobst- and Dolinengebiet and the Schonwald crossbar forest .

Characteristics

The area was designated as a nature and landscape protection area by ordinance of the Karlsruhe regional council of December 2, 1986 and is listed under the protection area number 2.096. The CDDA code is 162964 and corresponds to the WDPA ID . The LSG has the protected area no. 2.36.036.

Protection purpose

The protection purpose is the preservation and protection of the natural and typical landscape of the Enz valley, in particular the course of the river, the damp and wet locations in the floodplain and the dry locations on the slopes and rocky areas as a habitat for multi-layered plant and animal communities in the border area between red sandstone and shell limestone.
