Bocksbachtal is a landscape protection area in the district of Karlsruhe (protected area number 2.15.001) and in the Enzkreis (protected area number 2.36.001).

Location and description

The landscape protection area was created by ordinance of the Baden Ministry of Culture and Education of January 17, 1939. It encompasses the Bocksbach valley between Karlsbad to around 800 meters behind the Karlovy Vary district of Mutschelbach . The Bocksbach then passes into the LSG Pfinzgau before it flows into the Pfinz at Kleinsteinbach . Behind Mutschelbach, a narrow strip of the protected area belongs to the Enzkreis.

It belongs to the natural area 125- Kraichgau within the natural spatial main unit 12- Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten and lies between Karlsbad and the A 8 in the Black Forest Central / North Nature Park and in the FFH area No. 7117-341 Bocksbach and upper Pfinz .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the Bocksbach valley, which has largely been preserved in its natural state, as a meadow valley with beautiful riparian wood.
