Eisinger Gäulandschaft is a protected landscape area in the Enzkreis (protected area number 2.36.034).
Location and description
The 356.1 hectare landscape protection area was created by ordinance of the Enzkreis district office of March 1, 1985. It consists of two sub-areas and is on the markings of five municipalities:
- Eisingen = 344.175 ha, 96.65%
- Ispringen = 0.4438 ha, 0.12%
- Newcomers = 10.0025 ha, 2.80%
- Kämpfelbach = 0.87 ha, 0.24%
- Königsbach-Stein = 0.5984 ha, 0.16%
It is located to the west and east of Eisingen and belongs to the natural area 125- Kraichgau within the natural spatial main unit 12- Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten . The Gengenbachtal and sinkhole landscape south of Göbrichen , which also consists of two parts, borders both parts of the area to the west and east. Parts of the protected area are in FFH area No. 7017-341 Pfinzgau Ost .
Protection purpose
According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the main protection purpose is conservation
- the shell limestone landscape typical of eastern Pfinzgau as a near-natural cultural landscape;
- the meadows with their orchards;
- the field corridor structured by hedge trains, trees, small forest units and creeks. The hedgerows, trees, bushes, fruit stands, rains and near-natural forests, as well as the vegetation of the abandoned quarries are of great importance as biological cells and as refuges for the flora and fauna, which are important for the stability of the natural balance. They also represent an effective protection against erosion by water and wind;
- of all forest stands, succession areas and trees, especially deciduous and mixed forests.
