Protection purpose

According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the main protection purpose is conservation

  • the natural diversity of the landscape consisting of orchards and farm meadows, solitary trees, hedges and differently structured forests;
  • also use-related diversity of real forest communities as well as the promotion of old and dead wood;
  • open landscape areas, especially the clearing islands;
  • and development of recreational use in the various landscape areas (forest, field), which is of great importance especially for the greater Karlsruhe area.

The protection purpose is also the creation of a buffer zone and at the same time a networking area for the nature reserves.
