Protection purpose

The main protection purpose according to the Protected Area Ordinance is the preservation of the main mussel limestone landscape typical of the Hecken and Schlehengäu, with fields and meadows interspersed with hedge stretches, stone bars, orchards and hardwood forests. For ecological reasons and in the interest of recreational provision, this landscape should be preserved in its rich structure and interventions that damage the natural balance and its regenerative capacity or deface the landscape should be avoided. In particular, unless absolutely necessary for privileged agricultural operations, this landscape should be kept free of any kind of building structure and, because of its adventure and recreational value, should not be reused and should be kept open without any enclosures.
