Protection purpose

The areas were designated as nature and landscape protection areas by a joint ordinance issued by the Karlsruhe Regional Council on November 27, 1992. Flora and fauna

A special feature of the area is the occurrence of the endangered and poisonous thorn finger spider . The wild herb flora in the extensively cultivated arable land in the area is made up of tendril flat peas , blue gauchheil and summer adonis roses .
