Mindersbacher Tal is a nature reserve designated by the Karlsruhe Regional Council of October 24, 1985 with the number 2.085.
location
The nature reserve is located in the Obere Gäue and Schwarzwald-Randplatten natural areas . It lies between the communities of Ebhausen and Mindersbach . The nature reserve is part of the FFH area No. 7418-341 Nagolder Heckengäu and is flanked in the west and south-east by landscape protection area No. 2.35.037 Nagoldtal .
Protection purpose
According to the ordinance, the protective purpose is the preservation of a meadow valley in the geologically and geologically significant border area between the Upper Buntsandstein of the Black Forest and the layers of shell limestone of the Upper Gau, in particular:
- the maintenance and development of wetlands such as ponds, watercourses, reed beds, floodplains and wet meadows with their woody plants;
- the maintenance and care of the dry grassland and orchards;
- the maintenance, care and development of deciduous forest communities appropriate to the location;
- the conservation and sustainable promotion of the diverse plant and animal communities linked to the different habitats with a number of endangered species.
Flora and fauna
The protected area is characterized by a variety of biotopes. The wet meadows in the valley floor turn into semi-arid grass on the slopes. In the semi-arid grassland you can find: German fringed gentian , common fringed gentian , spring gentian , silver thistle and donkey thistle . The endangered sail butterfly stands out among the large butterflies . In the wet meadows many specially protected amphibian species are present: Fire Salamander , palmate newt , smooth newt , alpine newt , yellow-bellied toad and green toad .
