Haiterbacher Heckengäu is a nature reserve designated by the Karlsruhe Regional Council of July 21, 1993 with the number 2.166.
location
The nature reserve is located in the Obere Gäue nature reserve and is part of the FFH area No. 7418-341 Nagolder Heckengäu . It consists of 6 sub-areas that are located around Haiterbach (starting in the north of Haiterbach and continuing clockwise): Tannäcker (24.2 ha), Lange Morgen (2.6 ha), Wolfshalde (4.6 ha), Ganzenrain (23.5 ha), Staudach (50.1 ha), Stauchbachtal (32.7 ha).
Protection purpose
According to the ordinance, the protection purpose is the preservation, development and maintenance of the near-natural, richly structured landscape of the Heckengäus near Haiterbach. The area is characterized by its varied, small-scale structure with orchards, coniferous and mixed deciduous forests. Hedges, woods that accompany fields and streams, stone bars, sedges, various moist to dry meadow types, pastures, fields and spring meadows. This old cultural landscape, especially the dry area types and humid biotopes, offers a variety of endangered and rare animal and plant species such as B. orchids, mammals, birds, reptiles, butterflies, beetles and wild bees an ideal habitat.
Flora and fauna
In the Kalkquellfluren the subregion Stauchbachtal comes Ordinary Sims lily in front, near the compression stream we find the European Bach prison and in the wet meadows of the valley is Adscita Statices home. The limestone grasslands in the other areas are very species-rich. Representative are: golden thistle , thorny restraint , bulbous buttercup , smooth snake , sand lizard , small peacock butterfly and swallowtail .
