The nature reserve is located in the Obere Gäue natural area . It is located in the southern area of ​​the city of Nagold and borders the district hospital in the west.

Protection purpose

According to the ordinance, the protection purpose is the preservation and care of the near-natural, richly structured landscape of the natural area "Nagold-Heckengäu" with the diverse types of arid areas such as semi-arid lawns, juniper heaths, perennial borders, light mixed pine forests and the numerous hedges as habitats for typical, specialized animal and plant species like the hardwood saber-hedge , the black woodpecker and the pasque flower . The reed stocks at sources exposed to the south-east are also to be protected.
