Protection purpose
According to the ordinance, the protection purpose is the preservation of the source of the valley of the Teinach with its springs for reasons of ecology and the landscape: It is occupied by meadows, wet meadows and sedges with a variety of plant species typical for the location. The open landscape, which is only divided by a few trees, is the habitat of a species-rich animal world with rare, sometimes endangered and endangered bird species.

Narrow-leaved cottongrass and spotted orchid can be found in areas with extensive wetness . In the open meadow floodplain, small bird species that have become rare, such as the meadow pipit , reed bunting , girlitz and gray wagtail, have ideal living conditions.
