The Teinach is a 15.4 km long river in the northern Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the Nagold from the left and west in the Bad Teinach-Zavelsteiner district Teinachtal .

The Teinach rises in the forest north of Neuweiler at about 660  m above sea level. NN and runs south on the surrounding plateau, first crossing the nature reserve Falchenwiesen and then the main town of the municipality. At the sewage treatment plant in the village, she dug herself into the valley, in which she then moves eastwards; from here to the mouth, the small town of Neubulach is right neighbor. The first left tributary Eitelbach from the plateau is soon followed by the Weikenmühle of the Neuweiler community on the left bank, a little later it runs north from the Glasmühle and then takes on the Lautenbach from the left after the roof courtyard at Lautenbacherhof , the community boundary to the small spa town of Bad Teinach-Zavelstein is. Before the Teinach passes its main town on the left bank, the course turns east; The Rötenbach flows into the small town, again from the left. Then it turns on a south-easterly course and is strengthened from the Neubulach town district by its last larger and right tributary Dürrbach, before it after 15.4 km at the houses of Teinach Valley belonging to Bad Teinach from the left and finally west to 342.5  m above sea level. NN flows into the Nagold . It has a length of 15.4 km.

Catchment area

The catchment area is 61.5 km² and largely forested, in which it has dug its valley up to 200 m deep into the surrounding plain. Apart from Neuweiler, the Teinach only flows through Bad Teinach. In between there are some lonely courtyards and sawmills .

economy

The Weikenmühle, Glasmühle, Dachshof and Lautenbachhof are located on the Teinach between Neuweiler and Bad Teinach. Upstream of these courtyards you will mostly find artificially created mill streams that used to be used to drive mill wheels . Today some of them are still used to generate electricity with turbines. Only the Weikenmühle and the Glasmühle are still in operation today (2011) as a sawmill.
