Teinachtal with side valleys is a protected landscape area in the district of Calw (protected area number 2.35.053).
Location and description
The landscape protection area was created in its current form by ordinance of the District Office Calw of April 28, 2000. When this ordinance came into force, the ordinances of the District Office Calw on the landscape protection areas Teinachtal with its tributaries Lauterbach and Dürrbach of May 20, 1954 and the Zavelstein castle ruins came into effect on September 4 1953 expired.
It essentially encompasses the Teinach valley between Neuweiler and the confluence with the Nagold, including its side valleys. It belongs to the natural area 150- Black Forest edge plates within the natural spatial main unit 15- Black Forest and is located in the Black Forest Middle / North Nature Park . Small parts of the FFH area No. 7117-341 Kleinenztal and Black Forest edge plates are in the area.
Protection purpose
An essential protection purpose according to the Protected Area Ordinance is conservation
- the richly structured and in parts near-natural Teinach Valley and the affected side valleys with the adjacent valley slopes and parts of the plateaus,
- the natural, partly meandering streams with their wet meadows, tall herbaceous meadows and strips of wood,
- the near-natural hillside forests with their biotope structures and the habitats of protected species
- of the valley as a recreation area and as a habitat for protected animal and plant species and as an important landscape element.
Longer-term goals are the creation of a continuous open valley with extensive grassland management and the conversion of the non-site-appropriate reforestation in the valley floodplain into natural area-typical alluvial forests.
