The nature reserve Kohlbachtal and adjacent areas is located in the area of the municipalities of Oberderdingen , Sulzfeld (Baden) and Zaisenhausen in the district of Karlsruhe in Baden-Württemberg . The area, which consists of eleven partial areas, extends northeast and southwest of the core town of Zaisenhausen along the B 293 .

For Oberderdingen, Sulzfeld (Baden) and Zaisenhausen, an area of 138.6 hectares has been designated as a nature reserve since May 6, 1991 under the identification number 2.142. It is part of the " Kraichgau landscape with typical semi- arid lawns , orchards , wet meadows , sunken paths and alluvial forests ."
