Lehmgrube am Heulenberg is a nature reserve in the municipality of Pfinztal in Baden-Württemberg .
Characteristics
The nature reserve was designated by ordinance of the Karlsruhe Regional Council of November 29, 1990 and has a size of around 9.1 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 2.132. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 164413 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .
Location and description
The protected area is roughly halfway between the Pfinztal districts of Wöschbach and Söllingen . It is located in the natural area 125- Kraichgau within the natural spatial main unit 12- Gäuplatten in the Neckar and Tauberland . It is largely enclosed by the landscape protection area No. 2.15.056 Pfinzgau .
Protection purpose
According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation and design of the secondary biotope with wet areas, steep walls, raw soil areas, dry and ruderal locations, hedges and ecologically valuable forest eaves areas as a habitat for native animals and plants, in particular
- as a spawning ground for endangered amphibians;
- as a habitat for reptiles;
- as the habitat of a species-rich insect world;
- as breeding and feeding space for bird species that have become rare and
- as an area of study for scientific research.
