The Federbachbruch is a moor and wetland area in the Upper Rhine Plain on the suburbs of Muggensturm in the Rastatt district and Malsch in the Karlsruhe district, which has been designated as a nature reserve since December 22, 1982 by regulation of the Karlsruhe regional council . The Federbachbruch has a species-rich flora and fauna. You can find over 100 bird species, around 30 butterfly and 11 dragonfly species here .

Protection purpose

The purpose of protection is the preservation of a remnant of the Federbachbruch, the preservation of the typical and extensive vegetation of humid locations (reeds, large sedge groves, wet meadows and swamp forests) and the preservation, protection and promotion of the diverse but highly endangered fauna (including birds, amphibians and insects) of the Break.
