The Markbach and Jagdhäuser Wald nature reserve is located in the urban district of Baden-Baden and the municipality of Sinzheim in the Rastatt district in Baden-Württemberg .
The area that belongs to the natural area of the Northern Valley Black Forest / Ortenau - Bühler Vorberge extends between Sinzheim in the west and Baden-Baden in the east. The B 500 runs north and the Oos flows , while the B 3 runs west .

For the urban district of Baden-Baden and for Sinzheim, a 180.9 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number 2.182 since July 25, 1994 . It is a natural stream - the Markbach - with characteristic habitats:
- near-natural riparian trees and wet meadows
- traditional, small-parceled forms of use typical of the foothills such as orchards and viticulture
- Animal and plant communities adapted to the mosaic-like interlocking habitats
- unique erosion hollows in the hunting lodge forest, near-natural forest communities with characteristic vegetation
- Hainsimsen - beech forest, stone chickweed sessile oak - hornbeam forest and alder - ash forest
