Hilpertsau is a nature reserve in the Baden-Württemberg city of Gernsbach in the Rastatt district.

Characteristics

The nature reserve was designated by ordinance of the Karlsruhe regional council of May 5, 2014 and has a size of around 63.2 hectares in accordance with the protected area ordinance. It is listed under the protected area number 2.236. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 555588632 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

Location and description

The protected area consists of two sub-areas and is located east of the Gernsbach districts of Hilpertsau and Obertsrot . It is located in the natural area 152 Northern Black Forest within the natural spatial main unit 15 Black Forest , to the east borders the landscape protection area No. 2.16.005 Middle Murgtal . Part of it belongs to the 1920 hectare FFH area no. 7216-341 Unteres Murgtal and side valleys .

The reason for the establishment of the protected area were compensatory measures in favor of the bat population as part of the designation of the Hilpertsau new development area Eben .

Protection purpose

The purpose of protection is the preservation, safeguarding and development of the dry, damp and wet meadows, the tall herbaceous corridors and heaths, poor grass, grass lawns and forest rushes, the springs and streams, rocks and dry stone walls, forests, forest edges, rows of trees, hedges, Bushes, standard fruit trees and hay huts as landscape elements and habitats for rare and specially adapted animal and plant species.

Another protection purpose is the conservation and development of the populations occurring in the area from Appendix II of the Habitats Directive, in particular bullhead (Cottus gobio), brook lamprey (Lampetra planeri), salmon (Salmon salar), Spanish flag (Callimorpha quadripunctata), stag beetle (Lucanus cervus ) and lighter or darker blue-fly (Maculinea teleius, M. nausithous).
