The Silberweidenwald Steinmauern nature reserve is located in the Rastatt district in Baden-Württemberg . The 68.7 hectare area with the identification number 2.227 has been under nature protection since December 12, 2006.

The nature reserve is located northwest of Rastatt and east of the Murg , to the south not far from where it joins the Rhine .

Protection purpose

Are protective purposes

  • the maintenance, safeguarding and development of the floodplains of the Rhine in the mouth of the Murg and their superimposition of the dynamics of the two rivers, which is peculiar to other locations, and the part of the Natura 2000 area covered by this ordinance "Rhine lowlands between Wintersdorf and Karlsruhe" with the habitat types white willows - Alluvial forest as a priority habitat (Code 91E0), nutrient-poor to moderately nutrient-rich still waters (Code 3130), oligo- to mesotrophic calcareous waters with benthic vegetation with chandelier algae stocks (Code 3140) and muddy river banks with pioneer vegetation (Code 3270),
  • the preservation, safeguarding and development of the terrain morphology created by these dynamics, the characteristic alternation of sedimentation and erosion, the overlaying of Rhine and Black Forest sediments and the associated diversity of locations as well as the flora and fauna adapted to them;
  • the maintenance, protection and development of amphibious floodplains, Weichholzsäume and sludge banks with their characteristic plant communities, especially the nutsedge - sludge herb companies , the two tooth -Log-Ufersäume, the water Kress corridors , the sedges - and reeds stocks and of the white willow forest;
  • the preservation, development and calming of extensive dynamic shallow water zones for the adapted animal world as breeding, feeding, retreat, resting and migration biotopes.
