The Rastatter Rheinaue nature reserve is in the area of the district town of Rastatt and the communities of Iffezheim and Steinmauern in the district of Rastatt in Baden-Württemberg . It is the largest NSG in the district.
The area extends eastward directly along the Rhine between the Murg , which flows on the northern edge, and the state road L 78 b, which runs on the southern edge . Not far from the northeast corner is the core town of Steinmauern and on the southeast corner is Wintersdorf , a district of the district town of Rastatt.

For Iffezheim, Rastatt and Steinmauern, an 845.7 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve since February 8, 1984 under the identification number 2.071. It is an intact flood plain in the furcation zone of the Rhine as a habitat for numerous plant and animal communities. It is a natural area of special character and beauty, a site of oak-elm forest communities, with white willow forest and species-rich vegetation, especially in and around the waters.
