Ian Wilson (writer)

Ian Wilson (* 1941 in Clapham (London) ) is an English historian and author of books on religious and scientific subjects, which are often linked in his books.

Wilson studied Modern History at Magdalen College of Oxford University , graduating there 1,963th At the same time he studied art at the Ruskin School of Art at Oxford University. He has been researching the history of the Turin Shroud since the 1970s and has published several books on it, in which he defends the thesis that the Turin Shroud is identical to the image of Edessa , which is attested between 544 and 1204 in Edessa and Constantinople .

He lived for 26 years in Bristol ( England ), but now lives with his wife Melanie and their children Katherine, Lydie and Morgan in Brisbane ( Australia ). He converted from Anglican to Roman Catholic in 1972.
