societies

Olsen played in his career exclusively for the Faroese club B71 Sandur , in 1984 he played the first competitive games there in a lower class. In 1989 he completed all games in the first division with one exception and won the championship there. The cup final against HB Tórshavn , however, was lost in the replay with 0-2. In 1990, at the end of the season, the relegation from the top division as last-placed was certain. In the following season, he was first placed in the direct rise. In 1993 he was with his team in the cup final, which was won 2-1 in the replay against HB Tórshavn. Also in 1994 the cup final was reached, here B71 lost 2-1 to KÍ Klaksvík . In the 1997 season, Olsen was only used in the first half of the season and then sat out for two years, only in the second half of 1999 he played again for B71, which had previously achieved promotion to the first division. A year later he played mainly for the second team in the third division and also played in the first leg of the promotion games to the second division against LÍF Leirvík , which was lost 4-0. In the second leg, which ended 0:10 and thus meant staying in class, Olsen was not part of the squad. In 2001 he was only used sporadically in the first and second team, but played the second leg for relegation in the first division against Skála ÍF . This was won 1-0, due to the 1: 4 defeat in the first leg, this again led to relegation. In the second division Olsen was one of the regular players again, but was no longer used in the last third of the season. B71 was finally able to take second place, but failed in the relegation games in three games to EB / Streymur . In 2009, at the age of 43, he made a small comeback in the third division, where he played two games for the second team.

National team

Olsen's only international match for the Faroese national team , he played together with the other debutants Jan Dam and Pól F. Joensen on August 8, 1990 against the selection of Iceland . In the friendly game, which was lost 3-2 in Tórshavn , he played the first half and was then substituted for Gunnar Mohr , no further appointments followed.
