Ibra Kabo

Ibra Kabo (* 1921 in Guidiguir , † March 2003 in Niamey ) was a Nigerien politician and diplomat.

Life

Ibra Kabo belonged to the Hausa ethnic group . From 1954 to 1959 he was chairman of the Nigerien Union for Post and Telecommunications. In the parliamentary elections on December 14, 1958 , he was elected for the constituency of Gouré in the territorial assembly, to which he belonged for almost a year as a member. On January 3, 1959, Prime Minister Hamani Diori appointed him to the government as Minister of Labor. Kabo changed departments on June 25, 1963 and became Minister of Health, which he remained until November 1965.

He then began a diplomatic career in the service of the Republic of Niger. Ibra Kabo was ambassador to France , the United Kingdom , Italy and Switzerland from March 1966 to November 1967 , with his official seat in Paris . From November 1967 he was ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany , the Holy See and the Order of Malta with official residence in Bonn . In July 1974, shortly after the coup by Seyni Kountché , he was recalled from Bonn. Until his retirement on October 1, 1975, Kabo was employed as head of personnel in the Nigerien Foreign Ministry.
