Ibrahima Bakayoko (born December 31, 1976 in Séguéla ) is a former Ivorian football player who played on the position of a striker .
Career
Ibrahima Bakayoko moved from Stade d'Abidjan to Montpellier HSC in the 1995/96 season, scoring 13 goals here in his second season. After three and a half seasons at Montpellier, he moved to Everton in the Premier League for the 1998/99 season . After a season in England Bakayoko then moved to Olympique Marseille . Here he immediately belonged to the regular formation before moving to CA Osasuna for the 2003/04 season. After just one season in Spain, he returned to France for FC Istres . For the 2005/06 season Bakayoko then moved to Serie A club AS Livorno . Here he was used regularly in his first season, but he only scored one goal and could not completely convince. On January 25, 2007 he moved to FC Messina , where he signed a contract until 2009. His next stays were also only for a short period, so that he switched to AE Larisa in the summer of 2007 , to PAOK Thessaloniki one year later and to PAS Ioannina a further year later . He stayed in Ioannina for three seasons before playing for the Greek second division Olympiakos Volos in the 2012/13 season .
Bakayoko then took care of the Groupe Scolaire Louis-Nicollin school he founded and financed from his own resources in Abidjan's Cocody district, which also has a branch for football talents. He chose the President of HSC Montpellier as his namesake because he was "the most impressive and honest functionary" with whom Bakayoko had to do during his long career. Around the turn of the year 2013/2014, the desire to play football returned, and Bakayoko put on the dress of Stade Bordeaux for half a season in France's fourth-highest division , a purely amateur division. He then finally ended his career at the age of 38.
